Gregory Bateson was fascinated by ‘patterns that connect’ in all forms of relationship and communication in living systems. He studied messages in culture, art, cybernetics, the unconscious, ecology, dysfunctional families and, famously, dolphins. He wrote a foreword to Structure of Magic, sent Grinder and Bandler to Erickson, and influenced a generation to think more systemically and ‘as nature thinks’. We’ll be exploring: What is communication? How do you do it effectively? What is learning? And change? This Batesonian workshop will be active, participatory, possibly noisy, probably fun, and full of practical tools and ideas to apply in all communication contexts. Bring your voice and your body. Dolphins supplied.
